Mikesell & Mikesell – Attorneys At Law

Mikesell & Mikesell Attorneys at law was founded by Donald R. Mikesell, the son of Warren B. Mikesell and Mary E. Mikesell, both deceased.

Donald R. Mikesell was raised in the Mahaffey, Pennsylvania area with his three (3) sisters, Jean (Mikesell) Smith, Marion (Mikesell) Fuji and Marjorie (Mikesell) Bigelow.

Donald R. Mikesell served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during the Korean Conflict and was trained as a B-17 and/or B-29 tail-gunner, but the war ended before he saw any combat. He was then assigned to an Army base in Okinawa where he worked with U.S. Army Officers and legal staff working to correspond with families in the states regarding missing and deceased personnel and other legal duties.

Upon receiving his honorable discharge, Donald R. Mikesell returned to Pennsylvania where he received his undergraduate degree at Dickinson College and his Law degree from the Dickinson School of Law in 1954.

Donald R. Mikesell married Ann E. (Blackburn) Mikesell and they raised six (6) children namely: Jon Mikesell, Warren B. Mikesell, II, Annette Mikesell, Kimberly (Mikesell) Colavecchi, Robert Mikesell and Janell (Mikesell) Danielson.

After passing the Pennsylvania Bar exam, Donald R. Mikesell mentored with attorneys John Urey, Esquire and the Honorable Joseph Ammerman and later maintained a legal practice with them. He originally maintained offices in the Clearfield Bank & Trust building until 1977 when the office was moved to its current location at 115 East Locust Street, Clearfield.

Donald R. Mikesell was a general practitioner attorney while serving as an Administrative Law Judge in the Pennsylvania Department of Labor in the field of Worker’s Compensation for 35 years before his retirement in 1997.

Mr. Mikesell was an avid sportsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was also a 50 plus year member of the Clearfield Masonic Lodge No. 314. Other memberships included the American Legion – John Lewis Shade Post No. 6, VFW Post No. 1785, The Old town Sportsman’s Club and the NRA.

He continued to practice law with his son, Warren B. Mikesell, II, before retiring from practice in 2012. He passed away in March of 2016 at the age of 89.
